On Saturday, 21st March, we went to Waverley Abbey. The Abbey was founded in 1128 and dissolved by King Henry VIII in 1536.  Today this historic site is in ruins after many of its stones were taken for local building projects including the impressive grade II listed building Waverley Abbey House that overlooks the remains of the abbey.
